Who we are

The Tab is a creative dashboard built by Gabrielle by Design, a solo design studio based in Jamaica and operated by Stacey Nolan. You can reach us at gabriellebydesign@gmail.com.

This policy covers thetab.design (or the current domain while we're in early access) and the waitlist form on our landing page. It does not cover the dashboard itself — see the “What The Tab stores” section for how that works.

What we collect when you join the waitlist

When you fill in the waitlist form, you provide:

  • First name — required, so we can greet you properly in emails
  • Email address — required, to send you early access updates
  • Creative type — optional, helps us understand our audience
  • How you found us — optional, so we know what outreach is working

We do not ask for payment information, physical address, or any other personal details at this stage.

What The Tab stores in your browser

Once you're using the dashboard, your preferences are saved only in your own browser — specifically in localStorage, which is like a private note your browser keeps on your device. None of this is ever sent to our servers:

  • Your chosen colour theme (dark or light)
  • Your font size preference
  • The order you've arranged your widgets
  • Anything you've typed in the Scratchpad
  • Your vote in the What's Next poll (stored anonymously server-side via Upstash)

If you clear your browser data or use a different device, these preferences will reset. We have no way to recover them — they live only with you.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us on the waitlist to:

  • Send you early access notifications and product updates about The Tab
  • Understand who our audience is (in aggregate, not individually)

We will never sell your personal information. We will never share it with advertisers. We will never use it for anything other than communicating with you about The Tab.

Third-party services we use

The Tab pulls content from a few external services to power its widgets. Here's what each one does and what (if anything) it knows about you:

  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — stores your waitlist data and sends our emails. EU-based and GDPR-compliant. Brevo Privacy Policy →
  • YouTube Data API (Google) — fetches public video thumbnails for the YouTube widget. No personal data is passed to Google.
  • Pexels API — provides the design photography in the AI Images widget. No personal data is passed.
  • Groq AI — generates the daily AI Briefing text. No personal data is included in these requests.
  • Upstash Redis — stores anonymous poll vote counts. No names or emails are attached.

The Tab does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking tool. There are no advertising scripts on this site.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage (described above) for storing your preferences, which is different — it never leaves your device and cannot be read by other websites.

Your rights

You are always in control:

  • Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're off the list.
  • To have your waitlist data deleted entirely, email us at gabriellebydesign@gmail.comand we'll remove it within 30 days.
  • To see what data we hold on you, send us the same email and we'll tell you exactly what's stored.

If you're in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to object, restrict processing, and data portability.

Changes to this policy

If we make any meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. If you're on the waitlist, we'll send you an email notice for any significant changes.

Questions?

Email gabriellebydesign@gmail.com. We're a solo operation so replies may take a day or two, but we do respond to everything.
